PXE Request Audit
The PXE request audit is the read-only history of devices that reached a Net node during PXE boot without an active provisioning job.
Open Reporting > PXE request audit to investigate current and earlier boot attempts. Decisions are made from the separate pending PXE requests page in the Endpoints workspace.
What The Report Shows
Each request records:
- MAC address and boot attempt identifier
- detecting Net node
- request status
- first seen, last seen, expiration, and resolution times
- matched or prepared endpoint, when available
- selected provisioning job, when available
- operator and reason for a completed decision
- the most recent approval error, when an approval needed attention
- reported UUID, manufacturer, product, serial number, asset tag, platform, and architecture, when supplied by the device
Hardware details are informational. They help correlate boot attempts with inventory and support records.
Search by MAC address, Net node, endpoint, or job. Use the status filter to review all history or one request state.
Request Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
Pending | The boot attempt is waiting for approval or rejection. |
Approved | An endpoint and provisioning job were selected and the job was started. |
Normal boot | The MAC address belongs to a known endpoint without an active PXE job, or matches multiple endpoints. The device continues to its normal boot device. |
Rejected | An operator stopped the attempt, with an optional recorded reason. |
Expired | The five-minute decision window ended. |
Superseded | A newer boot attempt for the same MAC address reached the same Net node. |
Boots detected by different Net nodes remain separate requests. Known endpoints and MAC conflicts appear in this report but not in the pending approval queue. Requests remain in this report after resolution so operators can audit provisioning decisions and earlier attempts.
Permissions
Opening the PXE request audit requires Net node read permission. The report does not provide approval or rejection actions.
See Pending PXE Requests for the decision workflow.
