Artifacts

The Artifacts page provides one list of files collected by endpoint and infrastructure jobs.

Open Library > Artifacts to review, download, retain, or delete collected files. Job Designer and Platform Admin can change expiry and delete artifacts.

Configure expiry

Collect artifacts and Collect runner artifacts provide these expiry choices:

  • No artifact expiry
  • 1 hour
  • 1 day
  • 7 days
  • 30 days

The period begins when Ordyn stores the collected artifact. Changing expiry from the Artifacts page starts the selected period when the change is saved.

No artifact expiry keeps the artifact for the lifetime of its parent job run. Artifact expiry does not preserve a file after that run is removed by job-run retention.

Some sensitive artifact kinds have a fixed maximum lifetime. A raw Ordyn Agent database snapshot expires within seven days of collection. Its maximum cannot be extended or removed, including from the Artifacts page.

An expired artifact remains visible until cleanup runs, but it cannot be downloaded, previewed, placed by a later job step, or published to a software package.

Delete artifacts in a job

Add Delete collected artifacts after an earlier Collect artifacts or Collect runner artifacts step when a workflow should remove its transferred files immediately after their final use. Select the earlier collection step in the cleanup step.

The cleanup removes every artifact produced by that collection step for the current job target. Running it again succeeds when the artifacts are already absent. This makes it suitable for cleanup at the end of an offline domain-join or other file-transfer workflow.

Deletion behavior

Manual deletion, job cleanup, expiry cleanup, and parent-run cleanup all remove artifact records through the same retention rules. If file content is shared by another retained artifact or product resource, the shared content remains available to that resource. Otherwise, the stored content is removed with the artifact.

Collected job artifacts shown under an endpoint's Files view must be deleted from Library > Artifacts. Artifact retention changes and deletions are recorded in audit history.
